Anything but typical...
Unique Designs. Couture craftsmanship. Personal.

Having a Brooks Ann Camper Bridal Couture wedding dress made especially for your wedding day is the experience of a lifetime. I can take a sketch, a photo or even just a feeling for your wedding day, and create your perfect one-of-a-kind dress from start to finish using beautiful fine fabrics and couture craftsmanship. Your custom wedding dress is hand-made to your exact measurements to enhance your unique silhouette. With my help, you get to be the designer of something truly special, something that captures the essence of who you are, as well as something that fits and flatters your unique figure. In the end, you will not only have an heirloom-quality work of art, but a story to pass down to generations.
About Me...
I’m a quick study. I am actually not one of these women who learned to sew when she was five and never stopped. I personally didn’t learn to sew until I was in my twenties working in a theatre in Louisiana. But once I was bit by the sewing bug, I took it and ran. I apprenticed in the costume shop at the Yale School of Drama where I learned about design, construction and fit from some of the masters. I earned a Masters Degree (MFA) in Costume Construction from UNC-Chapel Hill, which was a three year intensive program focusing on custom patternmaking, couture sewing techniques and fashion history, as well as creating all the custom garments for the productions at PlayMakers Rep. My theatre career lead me all the way to New York City where I worked as a milliner for Broadway productions, creating unique pieces for clients such as Bernadette Peters, John Lithgow, Sean Combs, Molly Ringwald, Kristin Chenoweth, The Rockettes, The Muppets, The Undertaker (WWE)... just to name a very few.
The fast and furious lifestyle of The Big Apple, made me long for the days of living in, well, a smaller apple. I really wanted to start collaborating and constructing custom clothes for ‘real people’, not ‘characters’. Being at that age where all my friends are getting married, I found myself making the perfect leap back to North Carolina to start a custom couture wedding dress business of my very own. The experience has been exciting and rewarding! I currently work out of my little millhouse in Hillsborough, NC where I live with my husband, Charles and our hound dog, Dignan. Charles and I were married in March of 2008, and yes, I made my own dress.
